DesignerVista User Interface


DesignerVista Graphic User Interface(GUI) is organized into four sections: Main Menu, Toolbar, Tool Windows and Workspace.

Item # Description and Use
1 Main Menu : Most of the menu commands in DesignerVista are available from the Main menu at the top of the main window. Main menus are organized into functional groups such as File, Edit, Insert, Format etc. as shown in the figure above.
2 Application Toolbar: The main toolbar, under the Main menu, contains icon buttons that correspond to a subset of the commands on the main menu. Corresponding menu commands show the same images as on the toolbar.
3 Tool Windows: Tool Windows are secondary windows within the main window that provide access to and/or support for a particular functionality such as exploring documents, controls, control Properties. There are 4 tool windows accessible via shortcuts in the View menu (described later in this topic).
Shape Explorer : Window contains all the GUI controls for Mockup Design.
Favorites: Window allows user to add frequently used controls for quick access later.
Libraries: Window allows user to create control libraries.
4 Document Explorer Window organizes the list of pages in the active document.
5 Control Properties Window shows properties of the selected control in the current page.
6 Batch Edit Properties Window contains command buttons to customize the properties of one or more controls.
7 Work Area is the actual drawing area in which you design GUI prototype by drag and drop controls from Shape Explorer Window.
8 Page Tab is located at the bottom of the main window, allows you to add, delete and organize the pages in each document.
9 Document Tab located at the top of the main window, shows you the list of documents currently opened. You can navigate to any document by clicking on the document title in the tab.
